The American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) is an association of veterinary medicine regulatory boards with the mission to support and advance the regulatory process for veterinary medicine.

Idaho Hemp Ban 2022
The Idaho State Department of Agriculture intends to stop the sale of dosage form pet products (animal health supplements) that contain hemp and CBD, beginning on November 1, 2022.

VCS letter to the CA Dept of Cannabis Control re: newly enacted AB 1885 (2022)
AB 1885 will allow California veterinarians to “recommend” cannabis to pet parents for use in connection with their pets’ medical conditions. The new law goes into effect January 1, 2023 and requires the DCC to promulgate regulations for cannabis animal products. VCS has offered to advise and confer with the department in order to assist in crafting these regulations.
