This new virtual integrative NYSVMS webinar is presented by VCS member and equine expert, Dr. Joyce Harman. Cannabis can play an important role in equine medicine. The endocannabinoid system is perhaps less well researched than in other species but is just as present and as responsive to supplemental cannabinoids. However, there is much confusion, especially among clients, as to what hemp and CBD are and what they can be used for. We will demystify hemp and CBD and help you see where it's use might fit into equine practice.

The Endocannabinoid System and its Herbal Allies
Saturday, September 23, 2023
Lowood Educational Center, Duck, North Carolina
This 2-day CE event is just one of the courses offered by this organization that seeks to blend herbal medicine into western veterinary practices. There is so much more to the Endocannabinoid System than just what we hear about Cannabis spp. In this course, you will learn about the system in animals’ bodies and then learn about the receptors, ligands and a variety of herbs that have these ligands or their analogs. If you are in a state that still bans the veterinary use of Cannabis, this course will give you the knowledge and tools to discuss the concepts with clients and provide legal and safe alternatives. Hemp is federally legal, and we will discuss its uses as well as make medicine with it.
Thank you to our Valued Leading Sponsors. Their support makes VCS hosted events possible.
